Urban and Regional Air Quality Management

Researching cleaner air for healthier cities.

The Urban and Regional Air quality Management (URAM) group at IIT Delhi focuses on regional and urban-scale chemical transport modeling, while working closely with regulatory bodies in India and abroad to shape practical air-quality action plans.

  • Focus Regional and urban air-quality modeling
  • Approach Research aligned with policy and action planning
  • Base Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Delhi

Science, modeling, and actionable insight.

Our work spans the formation, transformation, and chemical mechanisms of air pollutants near their sources. We build and improve air-quality models that help explain current conditions and support better environmental planning.

The group also studies source apportionment, indoor air quality, regional air quality, and air purification, connecting computational analysis with real-world urban challenges.

  • Formation and transformation of air pollutants near sources
  • Development of air-quality models
  • Source apportionment of air pollutants
  • Indoor and regional air-quality studies
  • Air purification research
  • Policy-facing environmental action support
